Hi, Neighbor!

This toolkit is for when you move somewhere new. Or not. I created it after living in my building for three years and realizing I had never really gotten to know my neighbors.

Here you’ll find the fillable and printable note I sent to my neighbors, inviting them to join a building group chat for life’s small emergencies.

The experiment was a success. Neighbors didn’t just join. They were genuinely excited. The group was even used almost immediately when someone got locked out at 9:30 p.m.

This small experiment made me face my fear of rejection, and let me tell you, it was not easy. But I do think some of the ideas that feel the craziest can lead to the biggest rewards.
