I’m Samira

I'm a physician, creator, and someone who this year started wondering: what happens when you don't have a default person?

It started with the realization that I didn't have a ride to my colonoscopy. I felt embarrassed. I'd built a life that was financially independent and fiercely, dare I say, too independent.

I realized that while I love my solitude, I still need systems and people in place for the moments in life we can plan for. That way I get peace of mind, and I can actually enjoy my time off when I'm not doctoring. Usually that means a solo trip somewhere that feels like a new world, like New Zealand or Laos.

Here you'll find practical guides, curated resources, and medical insights on what I'm learning while designing my own version of supported independence.

Eventually I hope to grow this into a full library of resources and a community for people building a life outside the traditional script.

I'm glad you're here.
